I’m a Libra. How do I describe myself? Simple, passionate about life, sport and broadcasting.
FAVOURITE MUSIC
Love my music, anything that sounds good for my ears. They say music can alter moods and talk to you, so that’s how I take on my music
FAVOURITE MUSICIAN
Prokid (all SA hip-hop artists), Nhlanhla Nciza, Sphokazi, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, Fall out Boy and Linkin Park
FAVOURITE MOVIE
Anything with Morgan Freeman, Rowan Atkinson, Halle Berry (apart from cat woman), Sean William Scott and Mena Suvari
FAVOURITE HANGOUT
I love Mugg n Bean and don’t miss V&A Waterfront when I get to Cape Town
THINGS THAT MASS WITH YOUR “MHHHH”
Dishonesty, Figjams (That’s in acronym, check it carefully)
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL WOMAN
Wow. Can I pass this one? Okay, it’s someone that I must relate to with so many things, self-confidence, looks of course are high in the order and most importantly she must be a friend.
FAVOURITE PERSONALITY
I am a huge fan of Mr. Bean, Makhaya Ntini and Ashwin Willemse (Springbok and Lions wing), Thami Ngubeni, Many of my coleagues ku-Mhlobo Wenene including my breakfast Show team Sizwe “Slyso” Saliso and Saki Makapela (Migubo).
MEMORABLE MOMENT ON RADIO
Too many to mention but one that springs to mind is an Interview that I did with the Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd at the MCG
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE RADIO/ CAREER
Radio is the best form of communication, it reaches people everywhere. It’s a tool that to me should be used for so many things that can help build our country.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS
In five years? I will still be involved in broadcasting one way or another. My wish would have to inspire many young lives by then. Don’t give up on your dream. It may sound as cliché, but in reality you can do anything you set your mind to.
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
Gabrielle Union for obvious reasons, Basil Lewis D’oliveira, one of the legends of the game and could have been more remarkable had he played for his country of birth but was denied due to apartheid system.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME
I love fishing, relaxing with friends and perhaps go out for a meal at night somewhere quiet. My job doesn’t really give me spare time and when I do get some time I visit my mom and sisters in East London (best city in the world). Ideally I would love to get involved with some community projects, working with children.
WHAT EXCITES YOU MOST ABOUT LIFE
It’s a test of character, you meet challenges day-by -day that’s what excites me the fact that you don’t know what the next day brings. Some people knuckle down and some lack the courage and tomorrow you might take a leaf from your neighbor and do the same. I also get excited that we all equal in His eyes.
FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP
Thank Almighty for the day ahead.
